Rashid Rana a globally renowned artist awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz

Rashid Rana, a globally renowned artist and recipient of many international awards and recognitions, was conferred with Sitara-e-Imtiaz. This was announced on this Independence Day 14^th August 2021.

Rashid Rana said; “there is no better feeling than being recognized by your own people”.

Rashid Rana is notable for his ideas, imagery and pictorial strategies and he has exhibited extensively at various galleries and museums globally. His works are in various public and private collections including the British Museum London, Metropolitan Museum New York, Fukuoka Museum of Art, Japan and Saatchi Collection, London.

He is the recipient of the prestigious Game Changer Asia Art Award and was awarded as International Artist of the Year by South Asian Visual Arts Centre (SAVAC) Toronto, Canada in 2003.

He is a founding faculty member and currently the Dean of the School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore. The use of new media by an entire generation of young Pakistani artists is mostly a part of his legacy as an artist and an educator.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sings for Express Entertainment’s ‘Ek Jhoota Lafz Mohabbat’

Express Entertainment brings yet another promising drama series ‘Ek Jhoota Lafz Mohabbat.’ The drama is set to premiere on 10^th August 2021, with the original soundtrack released. Less than a day into its release, the song has already racked up more than 10,000 views.

Sung by the international sensation and pride of Pakistan, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the tragic love ballad has been composed by Waqar Ali Khan and features the lyrics of Sabir Zafar. The song is available on YouTube currently and will soon be available across various music streaming services as well.  The drama series is set to premiere on Tuesday 10^th August at 08:00 pm (PST) on Express Television.  This drama series stars Junaid Khan, Amna Ilyas and Emmad Irfani amongst others

The storyline is one of a family drama with an expected twist. The plot revolves around two sisters, one of who is sensible and responsible while the other is more materialistic and selfish. The story delves into the relationship issues that ensue due to the antics of the younger sister and the marriage that follows.

The drama series is directed by Syed Zeeshan Ali Zaidi and produced by Fahad Mustafa and Dr. Ali Kazmi under the banner of Big Bang Entertainment. It has been written by Maimoona Aziz. The series will premiere on Tuesday 10^th August at 08:00 pm PST on Express Entertainment.

Ali Ansari all set to star across Hina Altaf in ‘Kaasa-e-Dil’ on Geo Entertainment.

Speaking to media, here’s what a tight-lipped Ali revealed about the story: “It is an exciting tale that revolves around romance and relationships along with mis-understandings that lead to different events. It is based on love, sacrifices, and giving up. I am playing a parallel role with Affan Waheed as there are two main heroes in the story across Hina Altaf”.

 

If truth be told, there is no character Ali Ansari has not played yet and that too, immaculately. Be it a doting brother in Khaani to an angry young man in Seerat, a family guy in Kamzarf to a heartbroken, loyal lover in Muqaddar, the hero has aced every character with great ease.

After all, he is a man of many talents. We grew up listening to his voice on FM 96 with his show ‘Dude Where is My Song?’. The radio show was amongst the most hip and happening of its time, proving that Ali rocks at whatever he sets his mind too.
