Express Entertainment brings yet another promising drama series ‘Ek Jhoota Lafz Mohabbat.’ The drama is set to premiere on 10th August 2021, with the original soundtrack released. Less than a day into its release, the song has already racked up more than 10,000 views.

Sung by the international sensation and pride of Pakistan, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the tragic love ballad has been composed by Waqar Ali Khan and features the lyrics of Sabir Zafar. The song is available on YouTube currently and will soon be available across various music streaming services as well.  The drama series is set to premiere on Tuesday 10th August at 08:00 pm (PST) on Express Television.  This drama series stars Junaid Khan, Amna Ilyas and Emmad Irfani amongst others

The storyline is one of a family drama with an expected twist. The plot revolves around two sisters, one of who is sensible and responsible while the other is more materialistic and selfish. The story delves into the relationship issues that ensue due to the antics of the younger sister and the marriage that follows.

The drama series is directed by Syed Zeeshan Ali Zaidi and produced by Fahad Mustafa and Dr. Ali Kazmi under the banner of Big Bang Entertainment. It has been written by Maimoona Aziz. The series will premiere on Tuesday 10th August at 08:00 pm PST on Express Entertainment.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan gets life-time achievement award & honorary membership from Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

One of the greatest singers of this era and iconic sufi-singer, musician and qawwal Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was awarded with the life-time achievement award and honorary membership by the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi. This award was presented to Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at a prestigious ceremony that took place on the evening of Tuesday 16th March 2021 at Jaun Elia Lawn, Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan becomes the first Pakistani musician to receive this honour from Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. This was previously awarded to Zia Mohyeddin, Anwer Maqsood, Iftikhar Arif, Amar Jaleel and Asad Muhammad Khan

On this occasion Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said; “I am feeling honoured to be accepting this award by ACP Karachi as I would say that ACP Karachi is a world-renowned institute of Arts & Culture. I cannot put my feelings into words for the honour that has been bestowed on me”.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan added; “Anwar Maqsood is my mentor, he is the legend of words and stories and it is not less than an honor for me to speak in front of him”. He also added that; “President of ACP Karachi, Ahmad Shah chose beautiful words for my introduction”.

Minister of Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that; “there is no grammar of love and music. The greatest musicians of our time are present among us today; it’s an honour for everyone”. He further added that; “the legacy of combination of folk and classical music which was created by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is maintained by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan”.

President ACP Karachi Mohammad Ahmad Shah said; “we are proud to present Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lifetime Membership of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi to Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in recognition of his massive achievements”. President of ACP Karachi was was accompanied by the Culture Minister of Sindh Syed Sardar Ali Shah, living legend Anwer Maqsood, International producer Salman Ahmed and Secretary ACP Council Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi.

On the occasion, Ahmed Shah demanded the nomination of Nishan-e-Imtiaz for the music legend Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from the government of Pakistan.

Highlight of the evening was when legendary writer Anwar Maqsood had an interesting conversation with the Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in which Anwar Maqsood humorously said; “Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been singing for a long time but it is surprising to give him this award at this age, he is still very young and this award should be given to those who are involved in NAB cases”.

Event concluded after Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sang “Mera Iman Pakistan” and “Aaj Rang Hai” and received a standing ovation from the audience. During his short performance he remembered his co-performer Late Amjad Sabri.

Pakistan’s first ever professional boxing league, ‘Super Boxing League’ (SBL) to start from 28th September 2018.

Boxing enthusiasts and sports junkies in Pakistan are about to experience for the first time ever, a boxing league like none other. Super Boxing League (SBL) comes to Pakistan as Amir ‘King’ Khan takes the responsibility to revive this sport in his homeland.

 

On Thursday, June 21, 2018, management committee, team owners, sponsors and advocates came together for a press conference at the Karachi Marriott Hotel (Crystal Ballroom) to announce ‘Super Boxing League Pakistan. Amir Khan and other prominent names like Salman Iqbal, Shahid Afridi, Saif Malik, Ali Sheikh, Nadeem Omer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and many more from all walks of life and achievement were present to inaugurate this historic sporting event. The press-conference started at around 05:30 PM due to late arrival of many stars and was followed by a question & answers session with team owners and stars.

About first SBL Pakistan: SBL Pakistan is due to start on 28th September 2018 and it will be a 06 week extravaganza concluding on 03rd November 2018. This one-of-a-kind, first ever professional boxing tournament, Super Boxing League (SBL) Pakistan will be organized in association with Punjab Sports Board (PSB) & World Boxing Council (WBC) at the Amir Khan Boxing Academy, Islamabad, Pakistan.

For a transparent and successful inaugural edition of SBL Pakistan, WBC will be supervising the entire tournament, the best of Pakistani and international talent and present world class, captivating fights. The series will comprise of 8 franchise teams from major cities of the country.

Eight (08) teams will be participating competing against each other in two (02) groups of four (04) teams each. There will be Twelve (12) qualifying events spread over the period of four (04) weeks, followed by two (02) semi-finals during the fifth week and finally third and fourth place and final will be held during the 06th week.

SBL Pakistan in its first season has a mix of experience and youth with bringing in talent across the following categories: 01) Feather-Weight 57 kg, 02) Welter-Weight 66.7 kg, 03) Middle-Weight 72.57 kg, 04) Super Middle-Weight- 76.20 kg, 05) Heavy-Weight and 06) unlimited and for females only category is Super fly-Weight 52.16 kg.

Eight teams will be participating in the first edition of SBL Pakistan and each team will comprise of 10 male and 2 female in their squad to hold the fort for their respective franchises. Eight teams participating are Karachi Cobras, Quetta Gladiators, Faisalabad Falcons, Islamabad Kings, Sialkot Shers, Lahore Rams, Pakhtoon Warriors and Multan Nawabs.

SBL Pakistan has a unique point scoring system, on each fight its allows to give +1 point at for draw, referee decision +3 points to winner, technical knockout +4 to winner and knockout +6 to winner.

For Pakistan, the live telecast rights will go to the highest bidding broadcaster. While globally, SBL has signed agreements with Fox Network for Asian markets, Tencent – QQ Penguin for China and with Sky Sports for New Zealand providing broadcasting outreach to over 900 million homes in about 50+ countries. SBL Management truly believes that with the marketing muscle and distribution of these leading sports content providers will only help them expand the event output beyond into the rest of the world this season and for the future.

The event will spread over 6 weeks of adrenaline and pure thrill with league fights of 6 matches in a day (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Each of the 6 matches will feature 5 male fights and 1 female fight ensuring diversity and magnetism of the event is comprehensive.

Contrastingly official body of boxing in Pakistan which is ‘Pakistan Boxing Federation’ (PBF) on Tuesday announced that it would not be supporting British pugilist Amir Khan’s Super Boxing League (SBL) in Pakistan. “The PBF executive committee held its meeting, and in a resolution unanimously decided that the PBF will not become part of any event, including SBL, not organised under the statutes of AIBA and constitution of the national federation,” said a spokesman for the PBF.

“The PBF will promote and develop boxing and protect the interests of pugilists in accordance with AIBA and PBF rules,” added the spokesman.
